What is Refill Rx?

Refill Rx is a web site dedicated to providing you, a pharmacy customer, with access to "your" pharmacy via the Internet. With Refill Rx you are able to perform the following functions at ~STORENAME:
  • Submit refill requests for prescriptions
  • Learn the status of your prescriptions
  • View and print patient education leaflets
  • Obtain valuable store coupons

Minimum Requirements
  • Your pharmacy must be a Refill Rx member.
  • You must have access to the Internet: This is generally provided through a service such as America Online (AOL), or through a Local Internet Service Provider (ISP).
  • You must have a web browser installed on your computer: Examples of web browsers are - Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape. Windows 95 and NT come with Internet Explorer, and many software products bundle Netscape.

Security
  • No patient sensitive information is transmitted: Refill Rx does not send patient name, SSN, address, or phone number.
  • Multi-level password protection: Access to the pharmacy web site is controlled by a pair of IDs. In order to access your patient data, a user must know both the Pharmacy ID and your Patient ID. The knowledge of these IDs is controlled by your pharmacy.
  • Encrypted and Timestamped Pages: All passwords are encrypted. Also pages are timestamped to prevent unauthorized reuse.

Using Refill Rx
  1. Obtain your Refill Rx Patient Identification Card from the pharmacy.
  2. Bring up the web browser on your PC.
  3. In the address portion of web browser enter - www.refillrx.com. This will take you to the Refill Rx home page.
  4. Enter the Pharmacy ID from your card and press enter or click the send button. This will take you to the pharmacy's home page.
  5. Enter your Patient ID from your card and press enter or click the send button. This will take you to the refill request page.
